Scooby Doo: The Movie is a sequel to the original Scooby Doo television series. It was written by Stephen Harper and directed by James Maliszewski. It stars John Cusack, AnnaLynne McCord, Chloë Grace Moretz, Tara Reid, Alison Fernandez, Kyle Grooms, Christopher Lloyd, Amanda Lund, and Megan Mullally.
The movie continues with the gang being sent to see "Crisis on Continence Island." It is seen that they are not actually ghosts and cannot enter the ghost-haunted site. All of them get trapped in an abandoned school.
A gang of vampires find the group while trying to reach New Orleans to take vengeance for their sisters who were killed by the little fairy friends in New Orleans, but at that time they were still the little girl's vampiric friends. They are also seen fighting with their own universe's version of superheroes. When the Scooby gang to help them stop their counterparts, they discover a previous Scooby team member, Professor Alcide de Lobo (Liam Neeson), who was used by the gang as bait.
However, after getting caught in a battle between the do-gooders and de Lobo's counterpart, they all have to make a decision on who to save and who to kill. The shoe parts to determine who to save and to which universe. In the end, however, it was revealed that everything will end up the same in the end. The gang is finally able to save their universe's Vampires from being killed by humans and then turn them back into humans so they can enter into peace.
The movie sees the universe's Shoe making a plan to save everyone, but the other universe's Shoe stops him. In the end, however, he only manages to send everyone back home, with only some out of costume characters. Scooby and Shaggy become worried about the different universes coming together and causing trouble but the movies' plot ends abruptly before it is supposed to.
Scooby and Shaggy later ended up in the alternate dimension during the two hours that their universe's Shoe was holding the universe's universe together. In order to save the entire world from getting destroyed, Shaggy creates a portal that would allow everyone to return to their own universe. Scooby and Shaggy were able to use their powers of shadow to send everyone back safely.
As of now, the Scooby Doo franchise is now hitting its ninth season. The movie received a good response when it was released in cinemas and has gone on to be a beloved movie by fans and movie lovers.
It has been stated that the movie was partly based on the first book of the franchise. The movie has been able to bring back a lot of childhood memories for many viewers.
